Marulk + Overdrive Sensation

The Marulk sound is built on the boogie rock groove of 70's Status Quo, the inspired jams of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the loud songcraft of bands as Grand Funk Railroad and The Who. A hard workin', hard rockin' live unit, Marulk keep things interesting by adding improvisation and occasional odd numbers from rock's back catalogue into the set.

Overdrive Sensation is a rock band from Kiel in Schleswig-Holstein, Northern Germany, founded in spring 2003 by guitar player and singer Olli Overdrive. Until November 2002, he had played guitar in a band called Volcano Tornado, together with John Porno (Bass/Vocals) and Mayhemic Sensation (Drums/Perc.) who complete the present line-up of Overdrive Sensation.

Their songs are written by Olli and showcase a variety of different moods. The group plays ageless rock music, with references to "the golden age of Rock’n’Roll" (ca. 1955-1975). "Our music is a homage to the days, when musicians put their heart and soul into every single song to make every single second an experience for the audience. These days many artists tend to put everything they are capable of into their music thinking that the more they ‘blow it up’ the more attention they will get. But the real deal is to give every song exactly what it needs" says Olli. And the main thing that matters for the boys is the music itself, of course, not a trendy image or an extra-ordinary stage show.
