Nach ihrem Umzug nach Berlin arbeitete sie an ihrem neuen Solo-Album "About Anything", das mit Unterstützung von Dugald Jays in Berlin und John Parish in Bristol fertig gestellt wurde und Ende Juli 2009 auf Solaris Empire erscheint.

Neben Gesang spielt Marta Piano, Rhodes, Hammond, Synthesizer, Gitarre und Percussion – sie experimentiert in einem weiten Feld von elektronischen und analogen Sounds; ihr ursprünglicher Stil kombiniert minimalistische Arrangements und eine einzigartige Weise zu spielen und bewegt sich unvorhersehbar zwischen Zerbrechlichkeit und Verzerrung. Kritiker zogen Vergleiche mit Francoise Hardy, Hope Sandoval und Dusty Springfield, um den unmissverständlichen Charakter ihrer Stimme zu beschreiben, der mit seiner "gleichgültige Intensität die etwas beunruhigende Atmosphäre eines Roadmovies in Slow Motion" hervor ruft.

Marta began singing with the Australian-Italian group Micevice (1997). Since 2004 she's a key member of the new John Parish (PJ Harvey's long time producer and collaborator) band and together they recorded Once Upon a Little Time which has seen a worldwide release (Thrill Jockey,USA). She's also well known for her collaboration with Hugo Race in their outfit Sepiatone (Desvelos IT, Minty Fresh rec. Usa) and for touring as keyboard player and vocalist in the latest band formation of Hugo's True Spirit. Firmly part of the Italian underground music scene, she founded the European “supergroup” Songs With Other Strangers in 2004, a creative encounter between a diverse group of international songwriters and musicians (together with Stef Kamil Karlens, Manuel Agnelli, John Parish, Cesare Basile, Hugo race, JM Butty...) Her first solo album, “Pretty and Unsafe”came out in February 2007 and received a warm and enthusiastic feedback from audiences and press. Now she is working on her second one, here in Berlin with Dugald Jayes and Phil Freeborn and in Bristol with John Parish.

Critics used comparison as such Francoise Hardy , Hope Sandoval, Julie Cruise to describe the unmistakable character of her voice which with its "indifferent intensity", evokes the slightly disquieting atmosphere of a road movie in slow motion. She also appeared on recordings by the jazz ambient duo The Dining Rooms, the electronic project Pola, and on the recordings of Italian singer songwriter Cesare Basile. In Berlin at the moment she is collaborating with the electronic artist Sebastian Meissner

Beside singing, Marta plays piano, rhodes, hammond, synth she likes to explore a wide range of electronic and analogic sounds; her original style combines minimal arrangements and a unique kind of playing, stumbling unpredictably between delicacy and distortion.

In Marta's solo act the shape of her songwriting is stripped back to the intensity of voice, piano and guitar with occasional guest interventions, driven by experimenting with the moment of performance. The live set gives and intense interpretations of the collection of new songs she wrote and recorded at home and at The Cave studio in Catania under the name Pretty and Unsafe (together with Hugo, Cesare Basile, Enrico Sorbello, Giorgia Poli, as Daniele Grasso and John Parish mixed the tracks) as well as some ballads from the new second album of Sepiatone Darksummer produced by Hugo Race together with Mick Harvey.
